It would have been far more proficient in terms of downloading and editing the results. Unfortunately, the camera allows on the other hand a few minutes of video recording at low suggestion, so we had to turn to a proper camcorder, albeit a Sony miniDV, which was a aching in the neck to work with as consistent readers will know. If just I’d known about CHDK.
CHDK is momentary firmware that runs from your camera’s thought card and upgrades many models based on the the DIGIC II or DIGIC III platforms, including Canon A450, S5 IS, G7, TX-1 and divers more. There’s a wiki to rationalize more about using and abusing CHDK here. The buttocks line(s), however, are best summarised in a late Lifehacker post:
Enhanced Replica Capture - shooting in professional RAW composition Longer video recording point - up to 1 hour or 2Gb Additional Information On-Boob tube - battery life, histogram, profoundly of field Additional Photographic Settings - longer expos times (up to 65 s), faster shutter speeds (1/25,000 sec or faster), instinctive bracketing Script Support - including stir-sensing photography (great for lightning strikes) and chance-lapse photographyDetailed instructions for installing and using CHDK are in the Lifehacker duty, so I won’t duplicate their efforts here. But, to fix in place CHDK, you’ll need to advised of your camera’s current firmware portrayal and update it to one that is supported, download and instal the CHDK, and then get snap cheerful!
