Why gamers hate on the Wii
During my time-honoured internet click through for the latest and greatest tidings on gaming, I ran across the latest NPD numbers… GTAIV this, PS3 that, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then, I noticed the top ten Wii games sold at the rear month. As I perused the list, one giant sore thumb stuck out at me: Burgeoning Blox in only 9th place? All the same worse than that, were the games that sold more units than Bourgeon Blox, a game that I allow is one of the best, if not THE best reason to own a Wii.
Checkout the top ten and more ridiculousness, after the hurdle.
Ok, lets start off with the Wii top ten for April:
1. Mario Kart
2. Wii Fit
3. Wii Apple-polish w/ Remote
4. Super Smash Bros. Mel
5. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Stone
6. We Ski
7. Game Party
8. Super Mario Galaxy
9. Resonate Blox
10. Carnival Games
Most would say that the catalogue above appears to be a pretty real list, right? I mean, Wonderful Mario Galaxy, WiiFit, SSBB and Mario Kart are all large know to be better than usually games. Here’s the problem: they’re all leading party titles. They’re all made by Nintendo. Third function games are getting killed on the platform.
The NPD numbers for Bourgeon Blox indicate that for April, Wii owners bought solitary 60,000 copies of the game. For a pattern with an estimated install profane of about 10 million users in the U.S., that’s an affiliate rate of .06. (Gamedaily). That’s a petty amount for a great family pretend that should appeal to everybody. This profession should be a million seller, but it won’t get there, assuring an primeval demise for a game that should enjoy been a great franchise for EA and all but assured Wii gamers that originative minds like Steven Spielberg would maintain to make games for the platform.
