Shall Wii Dance??
The remission of Wii Fit got me thinking - Will dance be the next maturation in Wii technology? This Miami Herald article describes the uses of Wii Fit and the accompanying difference board…
Players use the board to put up aerobic exercises, strength training and exact yoga — all while upsetting to keep pace with an avatar on the TV mesh. They also get verbal trespass and feedback on technique.
Could this excess board also offer fitting feedback on technique for a ballet barre or for tap dancers? Could a wider dance overthrow-type board make the Wii more usable for dance movements that are less stationary? Could the embark on help correct placement issues like pronation/supination (rolling-in or out when regular) or pelvic alignment, provide assessment of one’s consider-off or landing from jumps, or really teach steps - from a jazz na to a pas de bourre to a time step? Would this create to more do-it-yourself dance training and decreased enrollment in classes? I organize not used Wii Fit but am curious to try it out.
What are some of your thoughts? Would you utilize the technology for dance if it were on tap? What are some other ways you could see this technology being productive for the study of dance?
