Ribbon out and blue tab off?

I was cleaning the eye on our PS2 (disc reading wrongdoing....) and the reset/power ribbon came OUT.  Ugh. - large now I have 2 problems!!!  Correctly, I read through these wonderful-wonderful posts and found pictures of how to get the ribbon go in.  However, the blue tab is OFF.  I acquainted with the plyers and got the ribbon back into the in order spot then taped it to dominance it in.  ??  I gently put the cover in back of surreptitiously on and tried it.  The red power light comes on but that is all.  The boys were cheering in the out of the public eye when the red light came on but the clamour quickly stopped when that is all that happened :(    I start a link where I can buy a new ribbon.   Do I needfulness a new ribbon or can I use the one I have without the smutty tab?  Any help would be totally, very much appreciated!  As a result of you so much!  The boys are bugging me - mitigate!
